Runaway

Enter - village, vulcano, locals

👋 Your Friday travel dispatch is here! This week it’s all about Italy, and escaping the hustle and bustle of life:

1. Sicilian farm retreat for ladies
2. Rural coliving in a Sardinian village
3. Local travel experiences from an Italian startup

Catania's view of Mount Etna erupting: a true spectacle.

Runaway to a farm (sorry, ladies only)

What: Cummari Coworking Retreats in the Sicilian Countryside cater to up to 10 solo female travelers and digital nomads who want to co-work, and co-live while enjoying authentic local experiences in a charming farm setting.

Why: Sometimes, we all need to hit pause and embrace a slower pace of life.
Where: The eastern-facing slope of 🌋 Etna (15’ from Taormina, 30’ from Catania), Sicily, Italy
Duration: 8 days OR 2 weeks (different dates)
When: September 14th to 22nd OR November 2nd to 16th
Price: Not announced yet

What catches our eye: Honestly, many things, but to name a few…

  • Location, location, location.

  • Included: Private bedroom, coworking, transfers from the local station, and all meals. And yes, wine enthusiasts, wine is included!

  • Organised activities such as a hike on Volcano Etna, Sicilian cooking class, ceramics workshop, and Ecstatic Dance Night

Want to go rural, but need another option?

If the concept appeals, but either the specific demographic doesn't quite match (😜) or the timing isn't ideal, consider exploring Sardinia!

Treballu runs a coliving and coworking space in Laconi, a small village in the center of the island.

What catches our eye: The genuine sense of community fostered by its remote setting. Members cook together, shop from the local market weekly, or go truffle hunting together (here’s something new to add to your list!)

Local is the new black

What: ItalyXP, a place where you can book local travel experiences for your weekend or holiday trips.

Why: Because you are already in Italy? (and this seems to work only in Italy… for now).
Price: Free, just pay for the experience you want

What catches our eye: Experiences seem more niche compared to what you'd typically find on mainstream travel booking sites.
